I mean this does definitely capture someone with ADHD trying to explain a single point. So what I took away was; challenge yourself, speed run, and make gimmicky controllers. I don't know if that required going in depth about learning ABC's or Banana's, but maybe i'm missing something.

this is definitely the difference between people who like video games for competitive reasons and people who like video games for escapism into novel experiences. edit: To maybe give some clarity to this: I remember being excited when video games "got popular" and then realizing the grand majority of people don't experience them the way I do.

Lies. NES/etc games were not "Dark Souls Difficult" in the slightest. Dark Souls is a walk in the park compared to them. I've beaten Darksouls / Soulslike games plenty. I'll never beat the classic Mario & Sonic games without cheating. Tons of games are too hard for me. Tons of games which aren't too hard for me have challenges/achievements/etc which are too hard for me. I avoid them. I don't do well with frustration. If I had a million bananas, my priority would be to offload them, not to get a half billion more.

i got through about 13 minutes of it. I stopped because I got annoyed at the filler. this probably could have been a 5 minute video dude.

Id say it depends on the game, sure I don find stuff like mario fun anymore, but if its story driven and has a plot (even a barebones action plot like Uncharted) then Im in, after all to say THOSE games arent fun anymore Id have to also t hen say watching a movie or tv series isnt fun anymore too, and that would be a lie.

this video is very good, i think it hits the nail on the head. i myself am deeply involved in video games but i don't play them anymore. hell these days i feel like not even paying any attention to the new releases, both triple A or indie. i'm just so tired of it, i'm tired of the communities accepting the state of these games too, i'm tired of the overal lenience when it comes to the quality of some of these games. i'm so tired of the marketing strategies and the fact they work 100% of the time. i'm tired of developers following trends without much thought to design or consideration to the longevity and quality of the game they are making, knowing full well audiences will eat whatever. but for all my hatred of people surroudning video games i can't bring myself to hate skilled players or even interesting games these days. like a game that enthralled me alot was Hyper Demon. you could realy sink your teeth into that game and it came out in the post 2020s. i think your explanation really helped me see why i feel so alienated with games these days. alot of the new ones i've played (which aren't much) felt like " challenges for 2nd graders". games made for streamers who have no interest in challenge or skill. or games made for a cheap story that doesn't matter. as good as what? a stupid marvel movie? come on. people need to get better standarts. the funny thing for me is that the direction i took to funnel that anger is making my own video games.

Another thought-provoking video. Great editing to tell the narrative, kept me watching to the end. Similar experience here, I still enjoy gaming immensely because I spend most days lifelong studying/working with music for fulfilment, so when I do get to game it's usually a great time. Only play 3-10 games a year so thankfully not in the boat of people that have seen every story and played every type of game to boredom and can't enjoy them (have numerous friends that struggle to enjoy games)

Good video. I can connect alot of this to how I feel about fighting games; playing to improve as the crux of the fun, making gameplans and failing/succeeding, and most of all the mental discipline to keep your head under pressure even when everything is going wrong. Also good for checking your ego. All good habits to have and apply to your real life as well

I 100% relate to this, I couldn’t learn at school, my memory was and is atrocious. But I have a remarkable mind filled with solutions. I found that I could talk my way in and out of a lot of different situations. Having a memory is a superpower and I wish I had that but I have to make do with what I do have. And thats a cunning ability to think faster than most. A very relatable video it’s always a hype when people speak to your inner dialogue and validate mild insecurities with yeah I went through this too! I love the stor2 videos as I still play it myself. And please let’s see Axel have it 👊🏼
